In Angola, illiteracy is still a reality and it affects a large number of women, who are consequently forced to live through risky situations such as early marriage, domestic violence, etc. We empower women through literacy to enable them find their voices and pursue education. This gives them the power learning opportunities. break the cycle of poverty and take on more activce roles. Each literacy programme has a duration of 5 months, with classes 3 times a week and a capacity of 30 students per class.
Improving health and wellbeing for women in prison through 'She Exists'
When it comes to incarcerated women, it is common to hear that the violations of women's human rights include the lack of access to women's health services and feminine hygiene products. Through partnerships and donations, we promote the fight against period poverty, which is heightened in female prisons, and contribute towards the well-being and dignitiy of women deprived of their liberty. The activities we carry out inside female prisons in Angola include seminars, healthcare workshops, prevention guidelines and self-care talks.
